Dining al fresco - The Gardens at Casa Loma

Looking to enjoy a dinner on a patio in the city minus the street traffic and concrete buildings, consider The Gardens at Casa Loma. In recent years with covid restrictions, the idea for an outdoor dining experience was realized on the beautiful grounds of Casa Loma with the spectacular castle as a backdrop. The Gardens is open every Tuesday, Wednesday and select Thursday evenings. Reservations are highly recommended.

When I arrived I felt very enchanted by the pretty gardens and the majestic castle. As I enjoyed my glass of champagne, I felt like I was on the set of Downton Abbey, taken back in time. The menu is not big but it has a good variety even if you are a vegan. We started with the Mediterranean Chips and Dips and the tzatziki was delicious! However if chips and dip are not for you, there was Yellow Tail Snapper Creviche, Ahi Tuna Nachos or the Vegan Gyoza. For dinner I ordered the Salmon with Summer Green and Lemon Aioli, keeping it lite just in case I had room for dessert. My husband enjoyed the Herbed Roasted Chicken with Yukon Gold & Mascarpone Puree and Grilled Ratatouille. Other menu items included, Steak Frites, Lobster Ravioli, Lamb Chop & Isreali Cous Cous, and the Vegan Beyond Burger to just name a few. For dessert you have a choice of Pavlova or Chocolate Sundae, unfortunately at this point I was too full. I blame the chips and dips!

The bar menu is quite varied from fancy cocktails such as Martini Botanique, The Dangerous Summer, The Queen's Own or Casa Loma Paloma. If you wish to keep it simpler, there is a good selection of beer, wine and spirits. If you are visiting with a group, you and your guests can enjoy a pitcher of Strawberry Sangria, all while relaxing in the green lush gardens of Casa Loma.

On Monday evenings during the summer, people are welcomed to enjoy the Sounds of the Symphony in the Gardens, however you must make a reservation at the sister restaurant Blue Blood Steak House, be prepared to spend money, bump into a Toronto Raptor or celeb and even park beside a Rolls Royce or two! Hey, you only live once!
