Golf anyone?

Back in my 20's one of my male cousin's had lost all hope in me and figured that maybe if I learned how to golf maybe I could meet a guy or use my new found golf skills on a date. Fast forward 20 plus years and I am married, but I did not meet my husband through golf. However I am surprisingly still playing golf or should I say persevering!

My golf game has always been consistently inconsistent. Some days I play well, other days you would think I was playing croquet, not that there is anything wrong with that. Thanks to my fellow golf girls (the GG's), I have been committed to getting up once a week throughout the summer and hitting the greens. For some, golf is all about the score and how many birdies. For me, its trying not to loose too many pink balls, yes pink. You are wondering, does a pink ball help her game or bring her luck. No none of that, I just think pink is pretty.

Speaking of pretty, after golfing all these years, I have played on many courses and in a few ladies leagues and one course stands above the rest. Hawthorne Valley (Pickering) is by far my favourite. The greens are always green and the trees provide the right amount of shade along with a breathtaking view as you play in the heat of the summer. The view is just a beautiful as the leaves create a blanket of red, orange and yellow on a cool fall day. Even though it is only an executive course, that means 9 holes, Hawthorne to me is perfect.

Golf may not be for everyone, but I think it is worth a try, especially if you are with the right company. Throw in a golf cart, a "special" beverage and hope not to loose too many balls! Most of all just have FUN!
