Escape to the city!

Updated: Jun 11, 2020

As week 5 of self distancing begins, I am starting to miss some "luxuries". Now a luxury isn't necessarily a Chanel handbag or Cartier watch, not that I would say no to either. But luxury is how you define it. It could be a day at the spa, sitting on a dock overlooking the lake or eating oysters at a upscale restaurant.

Taking a stroll and window shopping in Yorkville would be a nice way to start my luxurious day. Nordstrom, Holt Renfew, Williams Sonoma, all with such pretty windows and merchandise. Ok ok, I cannot but resist to go in and just "research" whats in stock and all the things I really don't need but would like! Then stopping by Sud Forno, attracted by the aroma of just out of the oven baked goods, freshly brewed coffee and the sound of the espresso machine with the barista perfectly placing the foam on my cappuccino. Then it's a a quick stop by Eatly, trying not to overspend on food I really don't need, as I am reminded by my jeans that still (thankfully) fit. So as a compromise, I would buy some freshly made pasta that I can later prepare for dinner paired with of course some pinot grigio.

Now its not like I am going all girl gone wild spending my day at the Four Seasons. But if I did, I would start with a full body massage and rejuvenation facial, followed by a martini (of course) and truffle fries on the patio at D Bar. Truffle fries now there is a luxury my jeans won't appreciate!

As escape to the city, my post Covid-19 perfect luxury!
