Tis the season to spread some cheer!

You cannot but get into the Christmas spirit when you see Christmas trees decorated, wreaths hanging on the front doors or the abundance of lights strung around the homes and gardens in the various neighbourhoods. You turn on the radio and stations are playing Christmas music, your turn on the TV and you are bound to find a Christmas movie or Hallmark Christmas special (but that's a whole other blog). Despite the Covid 19 protocols, there are many traditions we can still enjoy!

This has not been an easy year to say the least, but be it a party of two or ten, we can still sit around our dinner tables enjoy a festive meal and toast to the holidays. It may not look like it did in the past, but as long as we are surrounded by the ones we love no matter how many chairs are at the table, we should consider ourselves lucky. We are blessed to have a roof over our head, food on the table, a job and most importantly our health.

May the holidays also remind us of all those who unfortunately have lost their jobs, homes or a loved one due to the Corona virus. Hopefully we all find it in our hearts to help a family member or a friend who is in need this Christmas or reach out to those in our community who are less fortunate. I cannot explain just how good it feels to give back and do something good for someone else. Which to me, is one of the true meanings behind Christmas.

This Christmas it's not really about the gifts under the tree, but the people around it. It is not about getting your child the best gift ever, but watching their excitement on Christmas morning. This Christmas you may feel disappointed you cannot travel somewhere, but those places will always be there. Instead enjoy a white Christmas in the comfort of your beautiful home with those you love, that to me is the best gift of all.

Merry Christmas!
